This Valentine's Day

Woooowie, it sure has been a rough couple of days.

At the end of last week I started feeling really sick. Then when I went to the doctor on Friday I found out I have a case of the flu! When she told me I needed to stay in the house for the next week and stay away from people, I realized that I wouldn't be able to do any of the fun Valentine's Day plans I had in store for the weekend...and worse... I couldn't be with Stephen on Valentine's Day. I was pretty upset for a while, but things got better. He really is super sweet to me and I love him with all my heart. He knows I have this passionate dislike for canned soup, so he made me a delicious crock pot beef stew from scratch!

He also gave me the information to his Netflix so I don't go crazy of boredom while I am stuck in my room this week. I've already watched several Disney Movies. :)

Now I didn't see him for most of the weekend because we didn't want him catching my flu.  He also had a friend in town and was pretty busy, but on Valentine's Day we had a skype date planned and he told me I should be expecting something in the mail. That delivery never came, but Stephen visited me on Valentine's Day evening. He brought me some delicious chocolates and a beautifully wrapped red present box.

Most of the chocolates are gone now. Inside the present box was this lovely little elephant that sits on the dresser holding rings on its trunk. I find it so precious.

Stephen was pretty upset that the flowers and chocolates he ordered me was never delivered, but honestly it didn't matter. His presents were really sweet, but I was just so happy to have him sitting in the same room next to me. Staying away from him on this romantic weekend was very difficult to do, and I still haven't been able to kiss him in days. I also wasn't able to make all the things I wanted for him, but we have decided that can wait until next weekend. However, I did make him a little card that relates to something we used to talk about in high school.

Another fun thing that happened that evening was the Valentine's Day chocolate chip heart shaped pancakes my roommate made. They were delicious!

Next weekend I shall have a few dessert recipes up :) and later in the week I will be posting something that I made for my roommate this Valentine's Day.

Hope everyone enjoyed the sweet holiday :)

  1. I was looking forward to Wednesday to see if you would be able to post on the Wednesday blog. So pleased you were--glad you're much better--worried. I made the soup/stew this morning. I had all the organic things on hand luckily except cabbage, so I tromped out to the garden and substituted kale. Hope that works. Meanwhile, keep recovering!!

    love, s's m
