Bangs,Bangs, Bangs!

Whenever I get a haircut, it always takes a little while for me to like it. I will like it in the salon when the hair stylist is around, then as the day carries on  I incessantly play with it in front of the mirror and the thought, "Why did I do this?" always pops into my head. I got bangs again this Friday and thankfully that unsure stage only lasted about a day or two. It's official now, I enjoy them a lot.

Have you ever felt this way or have had a terrible hair cut? Share your story.

This Rainy Wednesday...

This rainy Wednesday... brings a little warmth. Days like these are terrible to walk around in (I have class today), but they make nice mornings. For some reason the sound is soothing while you are laying sleepily under the covers. Here are some images that made me smile on this dreary day, perhaps they will make you smile too.

This sweet illustration.

This lovely headband! Project idea!

This pup and his toy clone, and his toy's toy clone.

Clever wrapping paper.

Dancing in the rain. For all the rain that falls in Tallahassee, we rarely do this in it.

EEEP! This new vinyl that I have on my computer! Hum ho... how clever clever.

Strawberry pie. Quite possibly my type of favorite pie.

This amazing craft room! I hope to have one like this someday.

Stay dry! Or dance in the rain if you so wish!

Boy... is it Wednesday already?

It seems like I've only been doing Wednesday posts lately. Not to fear! I have some lovely little projects in mind for when school simmers down in the next couple of weeks. But I do really enjoy Worthwhile Wednesdays.

This week, I believe these will be worth your while...

Paula Deen riding a stick of butter. I think its hilarious!

This pretty flower headdress. New project idea?

These adorable Deviled Egg Chicks that What Tasty Food has come up with for Easter. They are so clever!

This Kitty ring! Stephen bought me one that looks exactly like the one pictured! I am in love with it. Most likely it will be on my finger when you see me. :)

I just think this photo is dreamy.

Tea time! After this semester ends, Sonja and I are going to celebrate with a real tea party.

Nature's candy.

Snorkeling! I cannot wait to do this after school ends. I hope it is as magical looking as this image is.

Have a good week everybody!

Birthday and Spring Break

This past week was my Spring Break, so Stephen and I went down to Naples (my home) to stay with my parents. We did so many lovely things and went to so many little fun places.

I found a cupcake shop in Naples called Gracie's Cupcakes and Ice Cream. Each cupcake was 50 cents more than a cake at Lucy and Leo's, but I must admit it was more tasty. My mom very much enjoyed this venture.

This week was also my 21st birthday. On the day of my birthday, Stephen and I went to Downtown Naples. The downtown area is full of fine dining, cafes, art galleries, and shopping. We didn't buy anything, but we enjoyed the beautiful weather and stopped at Adelhedidi's Organic Sweets. We only stopped in for coffee because we were planning on having lunch somewhere else after, but they had so many delicious looking sweets! Gelato, crepes, scones, muffins, and other pastries!

We also found an ADORABLE little tea room/lunch cafe called Brambles tucked away from the commotion of the main street. Again, we did not eat there because we were planning on lunch somewhere else, but we will definitely be coming back for lunch and tea the next time we are in Naples.

All week my mother had been telling us about this chocolatier called Norman Love Confections. The Naples location isn't open yet, so we hiked a few exits down to Ft. Myers. I was amazed at how perfectly crafted these chocolates were. They didn't look like chocolate at all... they looked like colorful marbles.

We got raspberry (me), mint chocolate chip (mom), peanut butter (Sam), key lime (Stephen), and NY cheesecake (dad).

On the last day of break I met my roommate Sonja and her mother at Teavana! They had beautifully crafted tea sets and a variety of samples to try.
I left with a few ounces of Black Dragon Pearls tea. It's delicious stuff :) It will surely help me get through this week of school. Next weekend we are packing out bags and headed off to New Orleans. More adventures, crafts, and food to come!

Awh man... spring break is coming to an end

Happy Wednesday! It came on so quickly! Stephen and I have been in Naples with my family this spring break and time always seems to fly by whenever we are here. The rest of the week will be good though because we have lots of fun things planned (like my birthday on Friday... hehe). Anywho here are some lovely images that I think are worthwhile!

Bunny baby hat!

Mmm... this picture is one of mine. These are the cupcakes we got yesterday at Gracie's Cupcakes and Ice Cream in Naples. Coconut Snow Ball, Dark Chocolate, Mint Chocolate Chip, Black and White Creme, Tiramisu, and Banana. Simply delicious.

This sleepy little guy.

Not only is the fact that they are holding hands adorable, but the boy's penguin backpack is precious! I want to try and replicate it somehow.

I like the idea behind these frames.

This wood shelf design speaks for itself. I would love to do this in my future home.

Baby Harry Potter!

Vintage bathing suits were so lovely. Why did they ever go out of style? Bathing suits now are way to skimpy.

Happy Spring Break to all of your students. Otherwise have a lovely week everybody!

Button Earrings DIY

I am super excited to finally get another craft up. I followed the tutorial on Trey and Lucy's blog and did the project with Sammy (my sister). We had lots of fun making them and picking them out. We spent so much time in Joann's just gazing at the massive variety of buttons they had to offer... I think it took more time to pick them out than to actually make the earrings.

Tools: Little tea cup buttons and earring backs.

You need to remove the little pieces on the backs of the buttons. This was hard for me because I forgot to buy the button shank remover Trey and Lucy mention in their blog.  However, I managed to get them off with a pair of pliers.

My dad helped to smooth out the back with his dremel tool. This probably wouldn't have been needed if I had used the button shank remover.

Once the buttons were smoothed out, all we had to do was attach the earring part with a small dab of hot glue!

I love them so much!

This pair is going to be a gift. :)

We went a little crazy...
